 sacbee - Taste
Sprinkle in flour and stir constantly, forming a roux to cook for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
Cook for around 30 minutes until the meat is tender and the vegetables are golden.
At times he veers toward dishes that may not find favor with most home cooks (sweet and sour calves tongue), but mostly he prepares dishes you'd be proud to present to family and friends.

As far as her cooking show goes, the only one I currently watch is called 30 Minute Meals.
She makes things ranging from fried peanut butter sandwiches for the kids to homemade ice cream to salmon fishcakes.
There are several other decent looking chics hosting cooking shows these days including some Italian chic on the Food Network, but none come close to the looks and appeal of Rachel Ray and Nigella Lawson.

 Cooking Shows
The thing that gets me about these cooking shows is first of all the chef always uses such expensive foods and insists everything must be the freshest.
At last count there are 18,118 cooking shows on T.V. And that doesn't include the one with the guy who only uses a blow torch.
Years ago T.V. cooks always had one of whatever they were making already made because the show wasn't long enough while we all waited around for it to cook.

 virtualitalia.com - food - italian cooking shows
They previously hosted Cucina Amore (a TV show that is no longer on the air). The premise of this 30 minute show is that the hosts will share all their Sicilian cooking secrets and teach the viewer to make traditional Sicilian dishes.
Unfortunately, he peppers his cooking lessons with mispronounced Italian - the one thing he shouldn't be teaching - but his recipes are worth the cringe.
Her informal and energetic style along with her clear cooking direction would have earned her three spoons had she been more consistent in distinguishing between which recipes she has modified and which are traditionally Italian.

TV cooking shows teach, inspire chefs - PittsburghLIVE.com
For instance, one cooking guru says that the key ingredient in a chowder, the thing which distinguishes it from every other soup, stew or broth, is potato.
Layer the meat and sauce, ending with the sauce.
Sounds plausible to me, until I see another, equally qualified cook who talks about the origins of New England clam chowder and how the earliest recorded recipes did not include potato.

Alton Brown's Good Eats is one of the best cooking shows I've seen in a long time (and cookies baked from his chocolate-chip cookie recipe will garner you fresh souls for your collection every time).
Someone decided that the overblown Portuguese-descent chef on Food TV was in need of a fictionalized show about his life.
They've picked up Farscape and are syndicating it, so sometimes I delay dinner by about 30 minutes so that the show starts as we're finishing our meal.

Kaufman produced a Jewish cooking show in Chicago a few years ago and was amazed at the requests for recipes even after the show was off the air.
On her "Break the Habit" show, she emphasizes recipes that shy away from traditional meat-and-potatoes, dairy-rich meals in favor of easy-to-make pasta, grain and rice entrees.

 Body
The shows are fine for recipe ingredient ideas, but sometimes their other recommendations are flat-out dangerous.
Other errors included using a knife as a fly swatter, using a raw meat wrapper to wipe a cutting board, using food that fell on the floor, and stirring food with a spoon used to taste food.
If you want food safety advice that will help you protect yourself and others who consume food you have prepared, don't do as they do on television cooking shows.

Sheffield Forum Archive - What are the best cooking shows on TV ?
The two fat ladies is as much about the stories they tell as the food, "I remember eating onion sandwiches by the pool in Berlin" or "I once cooked this for the Swedish royal family", etc. etc.
