MDN: The Wackier World of Japanese Ice Cream
Japanese ice cream, too, is unlikely to achieve the same giddy heights as raw fish -- even though it's one of the flavors it comes in.
Judging by the tastes on offer at Ice Cream City in Namco Nanja Town in the Sunshine 60 building in Tokyo's Toshima-ku, ice cream seems to be one aspect of Japanese Cool likely to be lost in translation.

 MDN: Photo Journal
Having succeeded globally with cars, electronics and even fashion, it was only natural the Japanese turned their hand to trying to surpass the West with one of its favorite culinary delights - ice cream.
Some of the results have been, well, interesting to say the least, as can be discovered at the Ice Cream Exhibition being held through to Sept. 30 at Namco Nanja Town in the Sunshine 60 building in Tokyo's Toshima-ku.
Japanese have long taken pride in their ability to adopt, adapt and improve on customs, practices and styles from other countries.

 Triverberations
Here's this month's output -- which, oddly enough, could also pass as a list of new Ben & Jerry ice cream flavors...
Triverberations are useful for naming eminently-discovered elements or solar systems, shouting loudly on a subway platform in the hopes of distracting would-be muggers and religious cult members, or suggesting as cool names for your brother's new baby (they'll just call it "Courtney Cameron Alexis" or "Kendall McAllister" anyway, but at least you tried, dammit).
Eventually -- given the coriolis effect, tides, evaporation and condensation and a number of other important scientific factors that don't connect in your head every time you turn on a garden hose -- it'll get to me.
