 Pauillac
For many wine lovers, Pauillac wines embody the quintessential characteristics of a fine Bordeaux wine.
A classic Pauillac wine is rich, dense-coloured, full-bodied and profound with an elegant mix of black currants and cedary oak that is luxurious and distinguished when mature.
There is a wide variation on this theme throughout Pauillac, in part due to the differing terrain across the region.

Pauillac - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pauillac is a small village and port on the Gironde estuary, famed for producing some of the finest and longest-lasting red wine in the world.
The village boasts a mere 3000 acres (12 km²) of vineyards in the Haut-Médoc between the villages of Saint-Julien to the south and Saint-Estèphe to the north, yet has the unique distinction of being home to three of Bordeaux's five first growth wines: Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château Latour, and Château Mouton-Rothschild.
Administratively, Pauillac is a commune of the Gironde département.

There are also fine wines to be found with the like of Chateau Clerc-Milon and Chateau d'Armailhac but if I had to select my favourite wine it would be Chateau Pichon-Baron and if I had money to burn: Chateau Latour.
On a more positive note, Chateau Pontet-Canet is now producing a wine that ranks alongside the more illustrious names in Pauillac and considering their modest prices, I cannot recommend this undervalued wine highly enough.
Just three more wines to add today from the most regal commune of "Pauillac" and to my regret many of the wines had scandalously run dry by the time I reached it.

How does it work? (OWL Example Wine Agent)
For instance, the concept of a Pauillac specifies that all such wines feature full bodies and strong flavors, and are made entirely from cabernet sauvignon grapes.
Rather, it searches for a concept of type wine of which the Chateau Lafite Rothschild Pauillac is an instance.
Together with other statements in the ontology, this allows the reasoner to deduce many additional facts: that this a Medoc wine from Bordeaux, in France, and that it is red, to name a few.
