 A Fistful of Westerns
It is because the films are primarily of Italian origin that the critics adopted the phrase 'Spaghetti Westerns', initially as an expression of derision.
Basically a Spaghetti Western is an Italian produced Western, or commonly an Italian-Spanish co-production - Italian financed with the principle cast and crew being for the most part Italian - although these films in fact attracted stars of all nationalities.
It is now common to expand the definition of a Spaghetti Western to envelop all Westerns produced on the continent, including earlier West German movies and westerns from other European countries that followed the Italian boom.

Seeing as how the email was sent by "the webmaster for the REAL Spaghetti Western," I wanted to ignore it and force them to get a lawyer, but Big Mike just decided to save himself the hassle and changed the name voluntarily.
I used to have a band on my record label called "Spaghetti Western," now I have a band called "The Spaghetti Western String Company." Big Mike Rossetto and I received emails similar in nature to the one Chuck of Blogumentary recently received.
Anyways, about "Skunk." We learned from the email that he had previously started a band called Spaghetti Western as well, but had to change the name to "Pacific Coast Highway" due to the cease and desist from the Santa Monica band.
