The Valdeguie white wine grape variety is grown in France and the U.S. where it is known as Napa Gamay in California.
While Valdeguie in France has a poor reputation as a workhorse variety grown to attract grants from the EU who promptly turn it into industrial alcohol, some California Napa Gamay wines are most pleasant.
Napa Gamay is now known to be Valdeguié and the name Napa Gamay will no longer appear on labels after 2007.
